Corriere sunday - year xix n. 38 of 23-30 september 1917 - the aspiring franceschi had promised to be the first to plant a tricolor on the ruins of castagnevizza. Having fearlessly led his platoon to conquer the position, although twice wounded, he was trying to raise the sign of victory, when a volley knocked him over, dead on the tricolour.
