Death of the Count of Villamediana, Manuel Castellano, 1868

The work represents the moment in which the people of madrid contemplated the corpse of juan de tassis y peralta (1582-1622), count of villamediana, since after his murder his remains were taken to the portal of the palace of the count of oñate, which was the residence of juan de tassis y acuña, first count of villamediana and father of the deceased. The body of the latter appears in the work being contemplated by his father and by the public gathered there, since at that place, as it was stated at the time, "the entire court came to see the wound.
