Horse fair, Rosa Bonheur, 1853

There are three versions of this world-famous painting in almost the same proportions, but in different sizes. The other two versions, one in the new york metropolitan museum from 1853/55, the other in the london national gallery from 1855, are much better known than the one in the husum nissen collection.
