The Virgin Annunciate, Carlo Crivelli, 1482

Together with the angel of the annunciation and a depiction of the redeemer (riggisberg, abegg foundation), it formed the tops of a large four-part altarpiece for the cathedral or dominican church in camerino, marche. The main panel of the polyptych, which was dismantled in the 19th century, shows the madonna and child and the saints peter and dominic, peter martyr and venantius, and the predella shows depictions of saints (today milan and venice).
