Pedro Benítez and His Daughter María de la Cruz, Rafael Tejeo, circa 1820

Pedro Benítez and His Daughter María de la Cruz, Rafael Tejeo, circa 1820

The father carries a book in his hands. The daughter, who appears to have a visual defect in her right eye, is holding a sheet of music, which, together with the piano in the background, indicates that she could be a music lover. In 1827, tegeo returned to portray what would become his wife, maría de la cruz, with identical musical motifs, without hiding her visual defect. Object Type: painting. Date: circa 1820. Dimensions: height: 174 cm (68.5 in); width: 128 cm (50.3 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Museo del Prado. Tejeo-Benitez
