The scene consists of a classicist monument, consisting of a basement with four (half) columns and an entablature, the whole crowned by a portrait of calvin, surrounded by angels with christian attributes and top left and right tondos with representations of baptism and marriage. The middle part of the monument itself is occupied by a representation of the synod of dordrecht (1618-1619) with an image of the nachtsmaal (= holy communion) at the top. In the left box above is a representation of the "north holland synod, as it was held in amsterdam, in the choir of the nieuwe kerk", below that of the "review of the acts of the national synod in the treves chamber in the hage. ". In the right box above an image of the "public readings of the new psalms at the house of prince maurits in the hague in the year 1773. " and below of the "meal at the burg in leijden, to the deputies of the classical meeting. ".
