object history: acquired, probably directly from blake in 1796, by ozias humphry; apparently lent by humphry to george cumberland, who added the pen and ink inscriptions; bequeathed by humphry to his son, william upcott, in 1810; sold after upcott's death at evans, the london auction house, 15 june 1846, lot 277, with the large book of designs copy a and the small book of designs copy a "inserted," and with america a prophecy copy h in the same lot (£7. 2s. 6d. To the dealer r. H. Evans); possibly acquired by francis turner palgrave; acquired by the british museum on 25 june 1859. Medium: relief and white-line etching with color printing and hand coloring. Original size: 36. 0 x 25. 7 cm. Date: 1794.
