Description the vismarkt on the geldersekade
seen from the geldersekade in a southerly direction towards the waag on the nieuwmarkt, with the zuiderkerkstoren on the left in the distance. On the right the houses geldersekade 130-132. The fish market was built shortly after 1840 on the north side of the nieuwmarkt, in the water of the geldersekade, to replace the fish market on dam square, which had to make way for the beurs van zocher.
