The poorhouse of odense, situated in a renaissance former merchant house in odense. The poorhouse was located here from 1804 until 1847 when it moved to new buildings. On the first floor there was a classroom for poor pupils, and hans christian andersen was among them. The house was situated in overgade 19 and part of it has survived. Object Type: painting.
