The work shows a general view of the city of toledo, (spain), and with it el greco contributed to the dissemination of the new image of the city by representing the main modern buildings of that time, which were the alcázar, the puerta nueva de bisagra and, above all, the tavera hospital, which predominates over the entire set of monuments. And at the same time el greco ignored the presence of the toledo cathedral and the monastery of san juan de los reyes, which were the most prominent medieval buildings in the ancient capital of the visigoth kingdom of toledo.
