Portrait of the famous spanish poet and writer luis de góngora y argote (1561-1627), a staunch enemy of francisco de quevedo and the greatest exponent of culteranism in spain. This work is an anonymous copy of the portrait that diego velázquez painted in 1622 of the poet luis de góngora and which is currently kept in the museum of fine arts in boston, although there is also another replica of the same work but made in velázquez's workshop in the lázaro galdiano museum in madrid.
