Vasily Tropinin 17, Vasily Andreevich Tropinin, 1834

Kiselev diomid vasilievich (1834). Artist v. Tropinin. Tropinin museum. D. V. Kiselev (1788-1831). Shuya and moscow merchant. Son of a millionaire, 1st guild merchant v. M. Kiselev (1766-1831), a paper yarn merchant, who was a serf of the novosiltsevs until 1779. He traded with england, distributed raw materials and supplied russian manufacturers with them. The kiselevs had a library, a collection of icons and early printed books, and were known for their charity. They built a bridge, a church and barracks in shuya. V. A. Tropinin painted portraits of all members of the kiselev family. Object Type: painting. Date: 1834.
