Turkish Horseman with sabre, Niklas Stör, 1530

This ferocious horseman brags about the number of christians he has already defeated. He has killed men, women and children, save for a few taken as the spoils of war. The verses accompanying the other soldiers in the set are less partisan. The men boast of their achievements, admittedly, but in the end have to concede that the lansquenets got the better of them at vienna. Date: 1530.
