Captain samuel hood (a distant relation to lord samuel hood after whom he was named) had sailed his ship juno into toulon harbour in search of the british fleet, which, unknown to him, had already departed. Running aground, he was hailed by the french, wearing the national cockades. Realising his mistake, he managed to free the ship and escape. Published may 1st 1800, by r.
