The dutch fleet at anchor in the centre there is a starboard bow view of a ship at anchor with a pendant at the fore. (? d commdr everts). To the right, seen more broadside, the ‘tijdverdrijf’ (? tijt verdrijf), and in the distance beyond the ‘edam’ (de bul). In the left foreground there is a lee quarter view of a smalschip under sail with the wind on the port quarter. Beyond, on her port bow, there is a ship at anchor with flag at the fore and pendant at the main (? tromp); and in the distance, a ship with flag at the main (? wasenaer). This is a pencil and wash drawing by the younger, signed in brown ink ‘w. V. Vj. ’ the dutch fleet at anchor. Date: circa 1665. Dimensions: Sheet: 158 x 408 mm; Mount: 405 mm x 556 mm.
