Study of a boeier RMG PW6702, circa 1700

Study of a boeier RMG PW6702, circa 1700

Study of a boeier viewed from the starboard quarter, showing a number of details on deck. The mainsail stowed. The identification of this type is uncertain. The yard is longer than was usual for a bezan-rigged boeier of the 17th century and the narrow leeboard is more characteristic of the latter botter. This is an unsigned drawing by the younger in black chalk touched with white on grey paper. The work is more freely drawn than paf6703, but somewhat overworked and not certainly be van de velde. The type of vessel would better fit the middle of the 18th century. Study of a boeier. Date: circa 1700. Dimensions: Sheet: 271 x 240 mm; Mount: 478 mm x 317 mm. Collection: Fine art.
