Study of distant warships at sea RMG PV3375, William Lionel Wyllie, circa 1917

Study of distant warships at sea only one ship is clearly seen here, two more beyond being largely suggested only by their smoke. Although there is very little to go on the visible one appears to be a 'st vincent'-class battleship. The fore funnel has a small mark above it which may be intended to be the smoke deflector that was fitted to the 'st vincent. ' in 1917. Date: circa 1917. Dimensions: 255 mm x 356 mm. Collection: Fine art.
