Ships reaching along a coast with a fair sea running on the left, a lee quarter view of a ship, probably english, under courses with the wind on the port quarter. There are three other ships in the distance ahead of her. A hilly coastline can be seen in the left background. This is a pencil drawing by the younger, signed in brown ink ‘w. V.
