The brig martha edmonds a primitive ship’s portrait showing the brig ‘martha edmonds’ in full sail, broadside-on in a calm sea. Her name is visible on the flag flying from her main mast. Several figures can be seen on board and the smoke from a steam ship can be seen on the right with land beyond.
