Schuldthos, Niklas Stör, 1530

The judge advocate was responsible for administering justice in a lansquenet regiment. He presided over the court in legal cases. The woman clinging to him is part of the army train, the civilian camp followers. The judge advocate's authority extended to them too. Perhaps this is why he is treading on the woman's toes. Date: 1530.
