Drawing by sister maurice schnell, member of the sisters of providence of saint mary-of-the-woods and long-time art teacher at what is now saint mary-of-the-woods college, or possibly by one of her pupils. While they also ran the academy as a boarding school, the day school was run by the sisters of providence for whom were often poorer children from the area.
