Roofs of london
william lionel wyllie (1851-1931) was born into an artistic family. He is well-known today as a splendid maritime artist. He painted a number of different places, but he clearly had a passion for the river thames, as this romantic view of london rooftops shows. As a young man, wyllie lived upon a barge on the thames, and converted it into a floating studio. One of several studies of london's skyline by the marine artist william lionel wyllie.
