"ladies dress, as it soon will be --" a satire published jan 20th, 1796, engraved by james gillray after a drawing by "henry c----e". This caricatures the new trend toward strongly neo-classical or "directoire" fashions in england, and makes a humorous prediction as to what women's clothing would look like in a few years if the trends of 1796 are extrapolated. Date: 1796.
