This engraving, included in antonius sanderus' book flandria illustrata (vol. 1641), shows the prinsenhof in bruges from the southeast and is probably based on an older source. So this footage is actually not contemporary. At the top right it shows the groenhuys (private residence), on the left the double gallery of the groenhuys (1446-1449), the bathhouse (1441-1446) that forms the separation between the groenhuys part and the second open square where we see some children(?) playing a game of handball. At the bottom right of the square we see the walled garden and centrally at the bottom of the square is the chapel complex. Adjacent to the chapel complex we see the entrance to the great hall (fourteenth century), the duchess's apartment (1446-1448) and the tower (fourteenth century, raised 1459-1459). Starting from the tower, the large gallery runs towards (1467) noordzandstraat. On this street we also see the entrance building with 2 guards. Date: 1 January 1641.
