Christ sitting on the cold stone; christ, represented as man of sorrows, is seated on a pedestal, containing an inscribed cartouche; to left, the virgin, st john and the three holy women kneel, while an angel holds the crucifix behind them; to right, the four evangelists kneel with their symbols, while behind them an angel holds the column surmounted by the cockerel; behind christ, a throng of angels form a semi-circle, holding the symbols of the passion; above christ, two angels hold an inscribed banner engraving.
