Portrait of general juan prim y prats (1814-1870), count of reus, marquis of castillejos and viscount of bruch. He became president of the council of ministers of spain and in his military life he participated in the first carlist war and the african war, where he showed relevant qualities of command, courage and recklessness. After the revolution of 1868 he became one of the most influential politicians in spain, sponsoring the enthronement of the house of savoy in the person of amadeo i of spain, but he was assassinated shortly before amadeo i arrived in spain.
