Portrait of the Burcht van Leiden RMG PW6837, circa 1665

Portrait of the burcht van leiden viewed from before the port quarter. On the tafferel, a picture of a round tower on a hill with trees and houses below. On a ribbon above the tower, there is the inscription ‘de burgh v leijde. ’ on the rail above are the arms of amsterdam with lion supporters. Two shields are on the counter, on the port side there is a lion rampant and on the starboard side crossed anchors for the admiralty of amsterdam. This drawing by the younger is in pencil with a little wash and with the waterline corrected in pen and brown ink. It has the false signature in brown ink ‘w v v. ’ portrait of the burcht van leiden.
