Portrait of a Dutch frigate RMG PW6836, circa 1665

Portrait of a dutch frigate viewed before the starboard quarter. On the tafferel, a lion is rampant and being attacked by two dogs. This is an unsigned pencil drawing by the younger. It is a rapid and accurate drawing over preliminary work in slight pencil which gives the impression of it being based on an offset; but the drawing is not rubbed on the back and is not in reverse. Portrait of a dutch frigate. Date: circa 1665. Dimensions: Sheet: 207 x 325 mm; Mount: 404 mm x 557 mm. Collection: Fine art.
