A view of the taking of the spanish frigate hermione from the puerto cabello, venezuela, 25 october 1799. French revolutionary wars (1792-1802): anglo-spanish wars (1796-1802). Hermione was a british ship which had been captured by the spaniards and was now re-taken by the british. The lettering of the text is faintly engraved, and the upper-case letters are engraved in outline, suggesting the possibility that this is a proof impression. The companion print is at rcin 735080.
