Racing, thames
this watercolour shows what appears to be a racing gaff cutter healing to starboard on a port tack. The two steam vessels to the right are possibly spectator vessels. William lionel wyllie (1851-1931) was born into an artistic family. He is well-known as a great maritime artist, and the thames was a popular subject for him.
