This image shows plate xvi, entitled pili o piedestalli di bronzo, e souvrapposte antenne cogli stendardi. The three delicate bronze flagpoles or pylones at the east end of the piazza san marco, facing the main façade of st mark’s basilica and created in 1505 by alessandro (de’) leopardi (1465–1523). The detail at the left shows the the central flagpole/pylone.
