Title page to a tract entitled "opera van andromache te milaanen", no. 24 in the series entitled "esopus in europa"; in the centre, an etching showing scarronie, described in the text as the rejected god-daughter of madame de maintenon who has become a courtesan at the opera, telling her story to a portly gentleman called "court feather"; behind them stand, to left, "spadalonga", a man in old-fashioned dress with a ruff and tall hat, and to right, the capering "lazaril" who draw attention to the action on the stage where andromache and her child fall from a chariot, together with the sun and a fulmen and two men; the backcloth represents the city of milan. 1702 etching with letterpress printed in black ink.
