Octav bancila - self-portrait, oil on canvas, 65 × 61 cm, signed and dated upper right, in brown, "octav băncilă, 1942". During 1942, he participates in the salonul moldovei, on which occasion he receives the "moldovan national award" worth 100,000 lei. It is probably the last self-portrait painted, two years later he died in his home in bucharest (str. Știrbei vodă, no. 111). Date: 1942.
