Octav bancila - field flowers, oil on canvas, 60. 5 × 62. 5 cm, signed lower left, in yellow, octav bancila. Octav băncilă's "field flowers" are special in the way they manage to convey not only the beauty of nature through art, but also the left-wing orientations that guided him. These ideas that are the basis of the artist's orientation in thinking are clearly manifested through the choice of the subject. Octav băncilă chooses to present a large bouquet of the simplest flowers in a traditional earthen cup, as during his artistic career he focused on rendering simple, natural, working people from the people. The bouquet impresses through its natural simplicity, through diversity and association, not through the rarity of the flowers. At first sight of the bouquet, it is not the flowers themselves that are of interest, but their effect together, forming a globe of fresh corollas. The diversity of this bouquet is amazing with each flower painted, otherwise mundane, but presented as unique only in the context of rendering alongside the other flowers. On a rusty background like that of dry leaves, băncilă's flowers, which come in all shapes, patterns and colors, convey vital energy and hope, as well as the idea of cheerful and natural youth against the background of the inevitable passage of time.
