The Wonderful Adventures of Nicolas Poucet, between 1880 and 1911

Cent print with a lithograph, consisting of 14 images. Mr and mrs poucet had once provided hospitality to the physician nostradamus. In return they desired 'that he would bear them a child, even if it was no bigger than a finger. ' soon there was a very little boy named niklaas. An old beggar brought him to the king's court, who provided niklaas with beautiful clothes and a home according to his size. The king does not want to let niklaas leave and he flees by diving into the moat, is eaten by a fish that is caught and brought to the king. During a second escape attempt he ends up in the mouth of a miller. Once again he is brought back to the king. The king wants him hanged. This time niklaas escapes by making a parachute from the paper on which the verdict is written. Eventually he flies on on a butterfly to look for his parents. Contains captions in french and dutch.
