A Girl Playing the Lute, Master of the Female Half-Lengths, from 1520 until 1530

Young woman dressed elegantly is playing a lute. She is wearing a red velvet dress and a bonnet on her head, a gold ring on the finger of her right hand and a filigree chain with an elaborately crafted pendant set with pearls and rubies. The lady is looking at an open songbook on the table in front of her. The precious vessel in the niche on the left is interpreted both as mary magdalene's ointment vessel and as a purely decorative element in the picture. Object Type: painting. Date: from 1520 until 1530. Dimensions: height: 53 cm (20.8 in); width: 38 cm (14.9 in). Collection: Galleria Sabauda. Master of the Female Half-Lengths - Mary Magdalene with lute - Galleria Sabauda
