Portrait of his wife domenica festa (1805/7- 1881), youngest daughter of the painter felice festa (b. 1763/4), watercolorist and miniaturist painter who exhibited at the paris salons; in france she was known as dominique monvoisin or simply madame monvoisin. The bordeaux painter met her in rome, where he was on a scholarship, and they married in the church of saint louis of the french on march 5, 1825, at the end of monvoisin's stay in the eternal city.
