Nobleman, Niklas Stör, 1530

Nobleman, Niklas Stör, 1530

This nobleman stresses the fact that although he is high-born he fights side by side with the other lansquenets. This accords with the historical reality, for lansquenets of noble birth were by no means rare. It is also striking that command ranks in the regiment were certainly not the sole preserve of the aristocracy. Date: 1530.
