As they emerge from the public bath in the background, we share an informal moment with a samurai family. Their attire is simple, and their hair, still wet, is plainly combed and unadorned. The servant, carrying a drying cloth and a long pipe, is easily identifiable through his plain and short garment, his bare feet, and his position behind the family. Date: Published in 1893 (Meiji).
