About the person: maria sophie elisabeth gogel, née von löwenich (* september 1st, 1791 burtscheid, today a district of aachen + october 1st, 1862 frankfurt am main). She comes from one of the oldest rhenish, cologne noble families, von löwenich, the burtscheid branch of a family of cloth manufacturers and textile industrialists based mainly in aldenhoven. She was the daughter of the frankfurt citizen and merchant friedrich von lövenich, and since february 15th, 1816 the wife of the wine merchant johann noe (noah) gogel (* october 9th, 1788 frankfurt am main + june 6th, 1865 ibid), who was taught by the famous german philosopher friedrich hegel as a young man in the years 1797 - 1801. After moving out of the multi-story family and business building "zur goldenen kette" on the roßmarkt, they lived on the gogel estate / villa in frankfurt am main. Her daughter margarethe sophie adelheid gogel (* 24 february 1817 + 24 august 1896) married the 25-year-old georg heinrich hauck on 20 may 1837, the later namesake of the banking house georg hauck & sohn (1809-1884).
