Queens College, the Entrance Gateway as taken in 1837, John Le Keux, circa 1840

The main gatehouse of queens' college, cambridge on queens' lane, as it was in 1837. In front of it are, to the left, the old university printing house, and to the right the old university anatomy school. This land had just been sold by queens' college to st catharine's college, which demolished these buildings and erected a row of tenements that were to block this view of queens' for several decades.
