Laelia superbiens RHS, James Bateman, between 1837 and 1843

Laelia superbiens, a species named by john lindley. It was included in the genus schomburgkia, but now again in genus laelia. This hand-retouched chromolithograph after a drawing by miss s. A. Drake (fl. 1820s-1840s), is from james bateman (1811-1897): "the orchidaceae of mexico and guatemala", tab. 38. Date: between 1837 and 1843.
