Parker, in his study of the windsor holbein collection, the drawing has been disfigured by "coarse and scratchy" penwork by another hand (parker, p. 50). Holbein's left-handed shading is noticeable in the cap. An oil painting by a follower, based on this drawing, records poyntz as in his 42nd year. Reference
