He is wearing a green uniform of a russian artillery major, with silver epaulettes, red lapels and a red waistcoat fitted with golden braids. Pistor, a hessian by birth, in 1771 joined the russian service and would later become a lt. General and the chief of general staff of imperial russian army. Object Type: painting. Date: after 1771.
