Description image of brandt created on december 5, 1658, on d'oude schans oudeschans ca. 84-96 (now 116 ff. ), probably seen from the korte dijkstraat to the snoekjesgracht. Fire in the home of the merchant joan de lange on the oudeschans, before the fire hose invented by jan van der heyden was used. The fire was fought with the old syringes, the facade collapsed and several people were injured, five firefighters died. Date of performance: 05-12-1658.
