Satyr and the Peasant. Satyr at the Peasant's House, Jacob Jordaens, circa 1600-1650
The story goes back to a fable by the greek poet aesop from the 6th century bc and describes how a satyr (half human, half horse) meets a farmer in the forest who invites him to stay with him. The social gathering ends in an argument, however, because the satyr insults the farmer as "two-faced" after an incident. The story is presented here in a visual way. Object Type: painting.
