Ivan Enchev-Vidyu Bulgarian Folk Crosses 556, April 1916

556. Cross - tombstone, around the cemetery outside the village of darvenitsa, sofia, from 1880. Made of white sandstone; four-winged; its upper wing expands outwards and has on its upper thickness five apples 5 cm in diameter and 2. 5 cm in height; on the two lateral wings there are three apples of the same size; in the middle of the face there is a cross, the upper three wings of which cross one more time; thirteen balls are left on the concave wings crosswise in the carving; a shallow niche is carved below the cross, and below it roughly a frieze of balls; behind the four inner corners are joined by two engraved lines crossed in the form of the letter "x". Dimensions: 88x54x11 cm. Sketched in april 1916. (vol. 2, fig. 9. ). Date: April 1916.
