59. Wedding ring of the megdancheto in the village. Lyutibrod, vrachan district. On a plinth of calcareous tuff driven into the ground, a byzantine-style marble capital is placed wide downwards. On one side of the capital are sculpted greek ornaments - meanders, and between them a cross. Against this group of stones, reminiscent of an altar, rests a tall cross, roughly hewn with an ax from oak wood, hammered with nails, which in all probability had previously been driven into the ground. This is evident from the thick half-rotten end of its lower wing. The megdancheto, where the vows were made, is located in the middle of the village at the highest point, on one of the bairs on which it is settled. A belfry built of oak beams juts out not far from the wedding hall. In the village lutibrod has no church; they are scattered around the surrounding villages, from where priests come on famous holidays and serve the vows. Here the villagers gather to pray for rain, slaughter a sacrifice, etc. Sketched in june 1916. (t. 2, table. I. ). Date: June 1916.
