Title plate: a personification of the tiber and romulus and remus suckling the she-wolf, set upon a plinth beneath a banner held aloft by an eagle; below, a portrait of stradanus before a low plinth, flanked on either side by a putto drawing on a board, while on top of the plinth rests a globe illustrating the extent of the roman empire; statues of venus and mars decorate the niches of the arch; beyond, troy burns and aeneas escapes with ascanius and anchises engraving.
