Hand-coloured lithograph print, from a painting by hornbrook, one of a pair from the caird collection. The print shows the britannia (1820) leaving devonport. Another state of this print ( paf7948) in the nmm collection has a long inscription dedicating it to the earl of northesk (rear admiral, commander in chief plymouth). The britannia, broken up in 1825, had been northesk's flagship at the battle of trafalgar, britannia shown leaving (devonport) with the lord high admiral on board. Date: 19th century.
